Already four months before the end of the year, Cora Cora Maldives Resort in Raa Atoll reports a significant increase in overnight stays by guests from Germany, Austria and Switzerland compared to the previous year.
Since opening in October 2021, Cora Cora Maldives Resort has successfully established itself in the German-speaking market. The fresh and colorful concept of the relaxed-luxurious 5-star hotel around the motto “It’s freedom time – time for freedom” is well received by travelers. Above all with fastidious Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the hotel is enjoying growing popularity. A look at the figures can only confirm this development. Already at this point, the resort can report a remarkable 30 percent increase in room nights for the German-speaking market compared to the entire previous year. A large proportion of these visitors come from Germany. By August 2023, a full four months before the end of the year and before the start of the high season, room nights for German guests have already increased by 40 percent compared to total room nights in 2022. Similar positive developments can also be seen in the statistics from Austria and Switzerland.
The remarkable increase in room nights from German-speaking countries highlights the outstanding acceptance of Cora Cora Maldives Resort’s fresh and relaxed-luxury concept and personalized approach. The resort has managed to create a unique symbiosis of luxury and relaxation, which perfectly meets the nerve of the time.
Most recently, the resort enjoyed renewed Green Globe certification for its sustainable practices. Last summer, the resort was awarded for the first time by the body and only nine months after opening. In March, the resort launched a wide-ranging sustainability campaign, “The Zen Adventure of a Lifetime,” which encourages people from around the world to participate in sustainable actions and challenges through the end of September. Also setting a notable example is the resort’s General Manager, Justin Swart, who together with Muiz Mohamed, Director of Human Resources, successfully completed their biggest challenge yet in early August: in eight days, they circumnavigated Raa Atoll on stand-up paddleboards. Another milestone followed in May this year, when Cora Cora Maldives became the first 5-star resort in the Maldives to establish itself as a safe destination for women, with Gold status from SHe Travel Club. In the same month, the resort launched a Coffee Table Book full of inspiring stories and background on the hotel, which guests can purchase on the island.
